Hello from Central Virginia! My wife Pam & I have been in business since January 2004. Our training was in February that year. We actually started in Chesapeake, VA for two & a half years then moved halfway across the state to Madison Heights. At first things were slow but since moving out here we've really had an increase in business.
We work primarily with non-profit organizations and have about 6 local customers who are constant repeats. Our name is getting around and people are liking the new choice in the area.
Before we arrived there was really only one other promotional products business and they were actually a t-shirt business that just added on promotional products. They are a provider of apparel to just about every college in the state. As you probably have guessed their problem is that they don't do small runs of anything. So we are filling that niche.
The in-house services we offer are pad printing, DTG, twisted pens, 2-1/4" buttons, engraving and heat press. So far the DTG has been our largest draw here. While we've had some problems with our T-Jet2 (which I'll discuss in another forum) it is now up and operating better now than it was when we purchased it. Within the past three months we've done over 500 shirts and this and next month will probably do another 600 shirts.
We are fortunate to have Adam Blath and the Potomac-PAP group at our disposal. They are a great group of people and great sources of information and processes.
